Where are you from
Hello there. My name is Jenea (pronounced "juh-nay") and I am from Oklahoma, U.S.A. For transparency's sake, I have lived and worked abroad for about 1/3 of my life and I am married to a Scottish man, so my -isms are sometimes American and sometimes British. But hey, no one's English is better than the other's, am-i-right?
What are your qualifications?
I have bachelor's degree in International Studies and a Master's degree in Business Administration. I am also a certified ESL teacher, as well as a CELTA holder. I have taught ESL for over a decade and trained content teachers (e.g. math(s), science, history) how to teach non-native English students (SIOP method) for about five of those years. None of that really matters though, does it? What you really want to know is why you should heed any advice from me. That's simple: I've been where you are and I know what struggles you are facing because I have faced them too, with far less information available than you have today. My goal is to make sure you get to the other side with as few hiccups as possible and with an immense satisfaction in your new job.
Where have you taught?
I have been lucky enough to teach in Norman - Oklahoma, Riom - France, Beijing - China, and Bishkek - Kyrgyzstan. I currently reside in Dubai, U.A.E.
What makes your site different from other TEFL websites?
I’m committed to the whole teaching experience. Most websites want to sell you a TEFL course and never hear from you again. I’m interested in helping you not only start your journey as an ESL teacher, but become one of the best TEFL teachers out there which will help you get a higher salary, a better position, and more freedom.
